Is there any use in Creating system recovery media after the system is attacked by the Virus ? Will the disk created after the attack works fine , to restore the system to factory settings ?

The system recovery disk is created from the recovery partition (from which you can also reinstall the system). A virus attack on your system is most likely not going to affect the recovery partition. So the answer is that your recovery disk will (most likely) be OK.

If you can burn factory restore disks you should be able to directly access the restore/recovery option through the manufacturers utility.
Preferably though with a virus on board I'd find out the special function key which gets you into factory restore at boot time.
