Hi,

I understand Creative Live Drive II has no Win 7 drivers. I'm soon to do an upgrade install of Win7 over
XP. What might happen to the sound... it is likely to use the existing driver or is that impossible?

Thanks.

Due to the change in the way Windows handles driver software, your existing drivers will not function. It isn't impossible but it is unlikely.

Windows 7 may install a driver automatically but there are no guarantees.
Are you absolutely certain that there is no Windows Vista/Windows 7/8 compatible driver software available?

Yes, Creative Labs confimed it - it's just too old. There is a non Creative driver of kinds, but it did not allow usage
of the front panel volume and interfacing. So I may as well take it out... and use the on board sound. But curious if the upgrade install might work, and maybe someone with A Live Drive has tried it ?

No, it won't work. The install itself will inform you that you will need to install new drivers.
