critical update stopping windows boot

Hi there, I am at a total loss here. My system got interrupted installing a huge critical update and now windows won't load. The system restore won't let me go to before the update and it won't seem to load in safe mode.
Can anyone help please? I am desperate!

Have you tried putting your Windows 7 disk in, clicking "Repair computer" and trying the "Startup Repair" option? It's fixed startup problems for me when an update has gone wrong in the past.
