Crysis 2 ... anybody got it yet?

Well same could be said for dog tags and collectables then.
For me they are just additional aspects to the game. You can choose to use them or ignore them.
Going out of my way to kill extra enemies in some areas when it was not needed actually increased challenge and playtime for me.

That is just a distraction and it does not deter you from enjoying the game fully. Stepping into the corpse does alter the game because if you don't then you don't get to upgrade your suit.

If you rather go jump up and down on the corpse to your heart's content, by all means do so, just like going to look for diamonds on Far Cry 2, more power to you but, do not let that become intrusive in the way you can or can not finish your game, hence, why I was hoping that at least one of the options would give you the change to play the game w/o it and still being able to upgrade your nano suit.

Agreed, but I don't want upgrading to be too easy. I don't mind having to work a little, instead of racking up points for doing nothing but shooting something from 1,000 yards away. What bothers me more are trophies. They're just feel-good, useless junk. If you're going to have people collect stuff, let them collect stuff so you can fly a @#$%! helicopter or something. Dead Rising 2 - if you collected, I believe, $2 million from slot machines you got keys to a Hummer and you could run over a bleep-load of zombies. Let me use what I earn.

I don't know what's gotten into game-makers. I'm sure they grew up playing sports where no one kept score and everyone got a participation ribbon.

My beef isn't about collecting points or car keys or souvenirs or trophies or whatnot, in and of themselves. It's what happens after you get all that stuff. I'd rather there be utility from all that collecting instead of a pointless, feel-good reward.

It doesn't have to be but then again, what fun is to upgrade to the baddest nano suit option if you can only use it for the last 20 minutes of the game?

I don't know, shooter games should not be about collecting crap to make the game appear longer, if they want to give me side missions, I am all for it but don't make it about collecting dog tags so I can win a Trophy at the end of the game or some stupid crap like that.

I'm only halfway through the campaign - once you reach the end of the game can you not restart with the total bad@ass suit?

If you just want the maxed out suit you can just use a trainer to give yourself mad nano points as soon as it's unlocked.

OK, but would you have to shoot everything, don't finish the level (or checkpoint), die and repeat over and over until you get all those points? I'm playing the hardest mode so why can't I just do that anyway? They don't give you a billion more easy-kill aliens to kill on the lower levels, do they?

No the mad nanos don't start appearing until very near the end, when you're zapping aliens all over the place. ...the last 4 you have to kill give 5k each as well I believe. Not much of a point in that as the game is over right after them.


...p.s. you're going to want stealth tracking or the end will be damn near impossible on hard.

I had played the leaked version, which was awesome, but decided to buy it as well

I hate all that, I wish they would make the Hardcore mode more for adults and leave the kiddie things for the, well... kids.

Having to walk all over the map to get the nano points is very annoying for me since I like to snipe the bastids from afar . I just wish that they would unlock by itself as you progress in the Campaign but, I guess I am going to have to get used to playing Rated M games that are more made for kids.

Im whit Asta on this one, all that shit, : collectables, dogtags etc.etc, is a leftover from the consoles, it was never present in PC games before they started to port consolegames to PC,.. and now it seems were stuck whit it,... sigh

And Asta, if u think its annoying to have to collect the nano points, wait till u get into MP, its the same whit the dogtags, u need to collect to get the orbital strike or the gunship,.. i rilly annoys me,...

Other than that, and the hackers, its still one of the best MP games ive played in resent years

I was finally able to play MP last night. Called up EA again about the login issue and the solution we chose was for them to give me an additional CD Key so that I can create a new account with a new email so that I could play MP and not mess up my original account that has the Limited Edition content tied to my main email account.

And yer ive given up on ever gettin my limited edition goodies, dosent rilly matter anymore, as its only a scar skin and a dogtag, the other parts u get, ive already opened up in MP anyway,.. but its more the princip involved, i paid xtra for stuff, I would like to actually get the stuff,..:huh:

I am glad that I do not do MP, it is hard enough for me to deal with the login fiascos, set my router, etc, etc, and I always hear about problems with hackers and the like... no thank you, leave me alone with the SP problems is what I always say.

but to be fair, ive had absolutly no problems whit loggin in to MP, (havent touched my router settings) and although theres still hackers, its gotten allot bettere whit 1.2 patch, but im well aware, that many people have problems whit MP, but im sure Crytek is working hard to solve those problems,
(but again, i may be somwhat inclined to root for crytek, coz im a big fanboy of Farcry & Crysis)

- well, frantic AND frustrating is the only way I can describe it..

can't get more than a few yards in MP, before some wallah comes hurtling out of nowhere and zaps me..

it's the state of many mp games right now sadly, they are hack fests or mod jobs, or the servers offer 'premium accounts' which basically means you pay them and they give you ridiculous advantages over normal players.
I just uninstalled tf2 today after playing the game almost since it's day of release.
It's nothing but a mire of hackers, mod servers, and premium characters.

I don't mind losing, I just want to know I actually lost.
Not be thrown into a basically no win situation...what's the point in playing that game?

The hectic tempo is what i like about it,..
but yer it takes some gettin use too,..
you know you can use nanovision to spot cloakers? (up close anyway) and you can even learn to spot cloakers without nano viz., -you can see the outline of them,
(im not very good at that, so i usally use nano viz.)
Move from cover to cover cloaked, decloak and refill your power, before cloakin and moving on,
but even cloaked you will still get spottet by players that CAN see your outline,
(or use nano viz.) but its bettere than to present a very visible target to them,
i am cloaked 80% of the time im ingame,..
and yesterday i made several good scores,
the best being 31-7, so it works,
I know alotta this stuff is obvious, but hope it may help you out a little,..
