Crysis 2, Portal 2....

Both CTD before any loading even occur. I've noticed a bunch of issues lately since Service pack one. Not even Shift will load. Anything already installed seems to work fine afik. But minor things like all around system lag here and there. Vent, Mumble, and TS not working like they did before the pack. Just annoying things.

Anyway, talked to EA about the Crysis 2 issue, tried everything, Disabled UAC, did the DEP, new admin account, setting affinity, compatibility mode (which has never done anything for me). I've got the latest drivers all around so I quit lol....not really. So, tell me any info you want, or show me how I can get rid of the service pack (system restore is NOT an option as I never use it and always (stupidly) disable it) from this computer.

Remove one of the 570 video cards and give that a shot. I have no idea why you chose to run SLI with only a 1680x1050 resolution, it's a waste of money.

Will try that. Also I wasn't planning on keeping these monitor. That's why i decided to run sli.

That is really strange.
All 4 of our Windows 7 machines have SP1 on them, 2 are 64bit and 2 are 32bit.
Crysis 2 is installed on one 64bit and one 32bit machine and Portal 2 is installed on the two 32bit machines (one with a 5770 and the other with a GT240).
Let me sleep on it and see if I think of something when I wake up.

Okay, I got Portal 2 on a 64-bit version of windows 7 Home Premium, and mine doesn't crash, but i am getting BAD lag and a bad framerate, this is happening along with all the other source games i have, and they are my main games that i play. I really need to get this to work, because without Source, gaming means nothing to me.

I have I7 860/8GB/ATI 5700 and on my win7 x64 ultimate fully patched and latest graphics drivers both games run perfectly. Frame rates were smooth I didnt bench them but they were solid without any slowdowns through the game and I've beaten Cyrsis 2 twice. I can also say that Crysis 2 and Portal 2 did not ever crash on me even once through out the experience and I am talking 5+ hours of continuous gaming.

Try downloading and installing latest version of DirectX 9. You've heard me 9.
