Hey everybody! I'm new here, so please be nice to me ... ;)
Anyway, I have a big problem with Adobe cs4 software. I cannot install any of CS4 programs... I tried everything, compatibility, administrator, registry edit, copying on HDD and nothing works. But first of all let me tell you where is the problem. When I start setup.exe it says "checking system profile..." and then-problem! It says "Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance." There must be some solution!

Yeah, that works... Lot's of people on other forums have tried that, and they all got the same answer: We will check compatibility and let you know how to solve problem. My friend is waiting 2 weeks now. So, I don't rely on that....

Well Bojan86, I really can not help you.
I booted up my new Win 7 machine for the first time just yesterday. I have some other issues that perplex me but both CS4 Bridge and CS4 Photoshop installed with no problems.
So CS4 does install on my Win7 Home Premium machine.
Good luck with yours.
I turned off UAC BTW but I doubt that has anything to do with your difficulty.

I have Win 7 Ultimate... Could that be a problem? :S
It's impossible that only mine Win 7 have a glitch...

It could be perhaps another program somehow conflicting with it, it could be anti-virus, firewall, heck it could be Firefox. Try disabling your AV/Firewall then run the installer as admin. Question, are you trying to run it in 32-bit mode?

What sort of registry tweak did you do, also?

-

Oh, are you running the installer from a disc or are you downloading it from Adobe? If your downloading it, try re-downloading the files. If its from disc, try downloading the trial from Adobe then just enter your product key when asked.

Well, I'm using 32-bit version of Win 7, so yes... I don't use Firefox, I had some problems with it in past, so I'm Opera user now... :) And yes, tried as admin...

Registry tweak... I found somewhere that I should change/delete something... "Machine" something... :S Not sure right now. Anyway, I couldn't find that sh*t anywhere, so I haven't tweaked anything... :)

I'm running installer from HDD... When I had XP install only worked if I copy it on HDD..

Oh if your on 32-bit Windows then its fine. I just know trying to install Photoshop in 32-bit mode, on 64-bit will run into problems.

Anyways, have you tried disabling your AV/Firewalls? Redownloading Photoshop setup/install files?

I didn't disable AV... I have avast! and no problems with it, but I'll try disabling it... Download is last solution, if that doesn't work, then I don't know what will... :S

Hmmm...sounds like a bad disc. As has been mentioned, download the trial version, see if you can install? After that, input your serial number and activate.

Mate.. before doing that. Since your willing to reinstall Windows anyways, try reinstalling Windows 7 and running the setup before installing anything else.

Aside from that I'm sorry I couldn't solve your problem. :(

If you have any Adobe CS3 program installed or any registry entries pointing to a CS3 install this will happen. Download the CS3 removal tool from Adobe and run it before trying to install CS4.

I had similar problems :( My solution was to turn off my firewall (Kaspersky Internet Security 2010) while installing the same was true of the upgrades would not install unless the firewall was turned off or paused.
