I've heard that these two processes are legit but can sometimes be corrupted by malware.

The problem is that on my laptop, the User Name and Description are both blank for csrss and winlogon but on my desktop, they both have an User Name (SYSTEM) and a Description.

Now I'm just wondering if it's normal for the User Name and Description to be blank for these two processes.

Yes this is perfectly normal ;)

If you click Show process from all users

Task Manager 2.PNG

This is because csrss.exe is Run by the system and not the User account which is why you cannot terminate this Process unless Task manager is run as Administrator

   Warning
If you terminate the Process Windows will Blue screen and shutdown

Hope This Helps,
Josh
