Hello to you guys,
Just curios about some update issue.
I am running Win XP on an HDD and Win 7 on another HDD.
Both stand alone (BIOS-managed dual boot)
When going to the Win 7 HDD to look for updates, it shows optional updates
(to be installed) of Silverlight although Silverlight has not been installed on
Win 7 but on Win XP!
I tried to install the update anyway (still on the Win 7 HDD) but then I get the accept license terms message.
That give me the idea that is has not been installed on my Win 7 HDD.
Then why ask for update on my Win 7 HDD??
This Silverlight, is it advisable to have? Can I live without it?
Thanks for any respons.
Patricia.

Some sites are starting to use Silverlight for interactive features but they a few and far between (The British Museum is one). You only need it if you have to use one of these sites.

Microsoft Silverlight is like Microsoft's own counterpart of Adobe Flashplayer which enables you to view online videos or contents in higher quality. But the sites that often require you to have it are those by Microsoft. So unless you like to use enriched visual features with sites like those, you don't need Silverlight and yes, you can live without it.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Sorry to have post at the wrong link.
There is still this question. Can you install something on one drive and have updates on another drive.
Doesn't it sound peculiar?
