curious about desktop image rotation daily

I was curious if anyone knows (besides manually) to get the windows desktop image to rotate to a new image each time windows loads? say I have a folder of 100's of desktop images (who doesn't ) so that I can see a different background each time i start up the machine or each time i log in and such. Just curious if anyone had asked something like that before. I'm pretty sure its an odd request.

If you are talking about wallpaper, you can right click the desktop and go to personalize. A setting there will allow you to change wallpaper at specified intervals--every 10 seconds, every hour, 3 hours, 24 hours, etc.

I don't see a control to have it change on every boot.

From experimentation, "3 hours" means 3 hours of actual on-screen display time, NOT 3 hours on a clock. That is--if your PC is off, the wallpaper timer clock is NOT ticking. If you changed to wallpaper A and immediately shut down for a week, when you rebooted, wallpaper A would appear.

Put a folder of wallpaper in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper. Go to personalize. Choose desktop background at the bottom of the screen. A new window will pop open. Choose windows desktop backgrounds in the dropdown box. All pictures in all of the folders in C Windows Web Wallpaper should appear. Manually select or shift/click to select the ones you want. Adjust picture position and change picture and shuffle as desired. Save changes.
