Current dual boot-deleting Vista

Ok i deleted the WinRe partition.

Trying the repair.

Startup repair didnt work.
Neither did those commands,althought the bootrec.exe/fixboot said it did

How did you get 2 logical drives and free space ?

There was only 1 logical drive before.



How does it look now going left to right?

If you had not just deleted the recovery partition - it should still have 4 as above - The second partition would contain 7 and still say Active.

How does it look now going left to right?

It looks a bit different from the partition wizard but when i deleted Vista which was D i copied WIN7 into the unallocated space and was still left with 39gbs of space which i thought was weird but meh

As for the logical one i changed some after all the rest failed in the vain hope it would work,i now have 2 primary and 1 logical.

Unallocated (recover partition 11.72 GB) -/- Windows 7 64bit (125.34gb)-/- Unallocated (Ex System partiton, 39.41 GB ?) -/- Data (163.95GB) -/- Windows 7 64bit (125.34GB)

The first windows 7 partiton is Active.

All the rest are status "none".

The first Win7 and Data partition are primary.

The rest are logical.

Im trying my best to answer all the questions as quick as i between running between 2 pcs lol

I tried the command.
It said it was succesfull but i still get BOOTMGR is missing.

I can create/wipe/properties.

Everything else is blanked out,including the modify options.

OK, Rt click Disk and select rebuild mbr, Apply.

Then boot 7 dvd and run startup repair 3 times.

If still no joy , we'll have a look with Diskpart .

Can i use the restore partition part of partition wizard to bring the Vista partition back with the bootmgr?

Ok,i stored that in the data partition,how would i restore it?

Just stick with SIW2, as there is no way this Win7 copied to the first partition is not recoverable with enough troubleshooting.

SIW2 he sez he deleted the Recovery partition in #21. Win7 was copied onto that and adjacent Vista's unallocated space.

Just stick with LIW2, as there is no way this Win7 in the first partition is not recoverable with enough troubleshooting.

I have complete faith in SIW2,im just asking about other possibilities

I always thought the boot section of the pc was either on bios or windows,thats how far my knowledge went and thats what brought me here lol

Boot the macrium cd and follow the screen - couldn't be easier - make sure you select Primary and Active - restore mbr as well - will be as before:
