I have spent a lot of time trying to get rid off. has any one else experienced, this if so how can i fix it

Does this happen every time it is over a click-able item, or is it just some of the time?

Hi, ruizd, welcome to the Seven Forums! :)

Set your mouse for double clicking on items instead of single clicking.

Hmmm, sorry. Sounds like it might be tied to an Accessibility setting. I have never used them but we have a great group of members here. Hold tight, ruizd, I'm sure your issue will be solved in short order.

If that doesn't seem to work, let us know if you can hear the mouse button click (being a mouse problem) or if it just does it on its own.

That is not uncommon for laptops. I would disable the touchpad and use a mouse. You could also change the sensitivity of the touchpad. The problem seems to be that the touchpad goes off when are only close to it.

I dont have a laptop but i use one in collage and was havin a similar problem. when typing or anything it would jump to where ever the pointer was and start typing there instead. very very annoying. think its just because the touch pad is so sensitive any lil brush off it would count as a click. was testing it to see and and sometimes ya dont even need to touch it, just get close.

if ya cant solve the problem with links above i would just disable it all together and get a usb mouse! thats what i had to do!

acer aspire auto clicks

I had the same problem with my acer aspire running XP. It's not a W7 issue. The synaptics touchpad is the issue. To correct it, this is what I did:
control Panel
Mouse
Device Settings
highlight the Synaptics touchpad
click settings
in the drop downs on the left, select tapping
click on tap zone (may have to expand the selection by clicking on the plus sign to see it)
click the enable tap zones choice (this is counter-intuitive)
expand tap zones on the left folder tree by clicking the plus sign
set each corner tap zone to "No zone"
click Apply after you do each one individually
after all are done, click OK
this should do it.
good luck, and this enabling automatically is a stupid idea that acer had

Thank you rvmatt
I have a Toshiba Satellite L775D. It was very annoying to have mouse-hover always opening up separate windows. This fixed it, although I set each tapping zone Action (Bottom Left, Bottom Right, Top Left, and Top Right) to No Zone and after which I only had to click Apply once for all of them.

No more telling my laptop it is stupid. :D
