Cursor / Mouse problem

My cursor doesn't move as far as my mouse and consequently I'm running off of the mouse pad and repositioning the mouse all the time - very annoying. This is anew emachines computer with Windows 7, but the same wireless mouse and keyboard I've always used. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but the speed doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. I've adjusted the speed from slow to fast and inbetween. I still have to pick the mouse up and move it back to the middle of the pad after a few moves.

* Please check if there is any dust/hair on the sensor LED under the Mouse BASE. This could cause such issue most of the times !

* If not, reset your wireless mouse connection for once !

I agree with Venths. The intent of my question was to find out what kind of mouse. If it were the old fashioned with the ball, I was going to tell you remove the ball and clean it. But you have the information, now. Try it, if still problems post back.

The mouse is wireless. I've checked under it and reset it. The problem started when I got a new emachines computer about a month ago. I haven't made any setting changes that I can think of, everything is pretty much default.

Try to borrow a mouse for 15 and see if it works. Then we know that we are not spinning our wheels trying to change settings.
