Custom Folder Question

Hey guys, new here. Had a question.

I changed the name of "Documents" to My Library" folder and then proceeded to create my own folders, hiding all the default ones that are part of Seven. My problem is that I cannot seem to make the folders to their own specific view, for example - I created a folder called "Audio" and have that folder as a "large view" and then inside that Audio folder I have separate folders, "Music", "Clips" etc. Now for "Music" I wanted to have it in a "List" view, but no matter what I select for that sub-folder, the entire folder tree goes to that view, and I want each folder to be a different view, not all the same.

Any help here? Other than this and the Start Button "All Programs" (how I wish it was like XP) I love Seven so much!

Hello Mnemonic, and welcome to Seven Forums.

In a library, all included folders share the same folder view. The only way around this will be to create a "New Library" for each one that you want to have a different folder view.

Only in Windows Explorer does each folder have it's own folder views.

Oh wow, that's... terrible!

In XP, I hid all the "My" folders and used "Documents" to set up a root-folder-subfolder instance in "Documents" where I could create my own folders.

You might see if creating them at C:\Users\(user-name) instead may work for you. This way you can set the Start Menu Customize settings to display your "Personal Folder" as a menu to make it easy to access via the Start Menu.

Okay, that actually worked, but.. the other folders "My Documents, My... etc." are still there, cannot be hidden and some, like Favorites, shouldn't be deleted.

Double check to make sure that you are hiding them from the C:\Users\(user-name) location and not from the open it from the Start Menu.
