Here is a couple hints for you most of the signatures here are 650 x 150 pixels(unless you're a just member and then they are 600 x 100 pixels) they display the best. But most of us start out with a 1300 x 300 pixel image size and then after we have created what we are creating we reduced the size to 650 x 150.

Next hint I see you're using the seven forum logo if you open up the PSD in Photoshop you can deselect black background and then save it as a .png to your desktop and then drag it onto your signature background so you get a more transparent cleaner look, look at the examples below.

The size issue is under control, I just need to re-size some of my b'grounds as they're all odd sizes at present
and I've just been using them ''as is' then shrinking them till they fit the forum concerned. All good, though.
Yes I'm using the SevenForums logo, but it isn't a psd file, it's a png that I cropped from somewhere so I can't
deselect the b'ground. In fact, I've just been trying to think of a way to do so.

Why dont you use this one? Open image in a new tab and then save. Its a transparent png.

It appears that you are an expert in this job. It is not only a good looking and creative one, but also within the size constraints, which is difficult to maintain for the newbies.

Dumb noob question, how do you get the layers objects to show? When I open it it look like the sig.

Hiya sorry I took so long to get back to you .... looks like you figured it out, but in answer to your question in CorelDraw we don't need to work on layers although you can do so if you want to. The layers can come in handy when you have hundreds of objects but using the object manager is most proberly the best way to navigate around a drawing that has so many objects.
I use TAB which alternates between the objects (shift TAB goes backwards through the objects) also naming each object can be helpful. I'm just a bit lazy when it come to this.

Yup, I finally did find Object Manager. Problem is when I drag an object only the outline shows.

It was enhanced and I think maybe I was dragging an effect layer(?).

Yep that is most proberly what happened .... image below shows a overlay bitmap selected (images on top are identical). Image on the left shows it on a white background which shows a (invisible object) with only a outline of the bitmap (in wireframe) (outline is invisivle in enhanced view) but viewed on a vignette background the colours show up with the effect in place
