i reckon some rugby players could cut it, and they don't wear armour.
I remember when I was young, an American 'grid-iron' player named Mark Harris (from memory) moved to Oz and started playing in our Premier Rugby League comp.
I remember hearing him in an interview, saying how surprised he was to find that we wore no body-armour, and played so hard. He loved it, though, and remained a 'star' player for many years.
