That's one of the most widely used photoshop technique, Jaidyn !
First, make a elliptical selection over your design, in a different layer

Then, edit the gradient ... from white to transparent

Hold shift, and drag gradient, from the top to teh bottom of teh selection

Finally, apply a little Gaussian blur

Yup i think so. But when it comes to making shapes or logos, i'll choose corel draw over photoshop. But that just me...
