try to upload to a image host (Like tinypic)
Make sure that you upload the animated gif file.. once uploaded, click on it.. this will open the gif file in a browser... copy the url ... goto edit sig option in CP ... cut current sig... open image tags.. paste url ... save signature... easy peasy, you're done!
