Custom Size/Shape taskbar

I'm looking to try and make a custom size and shaped taskbar. My objective is to have a taskbar that isn't the full length of the screen, but has a gap on the end so I can have a permanent sidebar with some things on there that I want...I photoshopped a picture together to demo what I want, notice that the taskbar ends and then the sidebar starts.

Is it possible? If so, how?

I don't think that is possible. Besides, the "Show Desktop" control all the way in the right bottom corner would be in the way. Why don't you tweak the Vista sidebar ( http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/587-vista-windows-sidebar-reinstate-windows-7-a.html ). That is compatible with the taskbar.

Well, that doesn't acomplish what I want at all, I just don't like it how it covers part of the sidebar but I don't want the sidebar shorter.

Hmm, any other ideas?
