Custom win7 x win7 install on two partitions

Bought Toshiba Qosmio X505-896 with Win 7 Home Premium x64 installed (C). Upgraded to Win 7 Pro x64. Partitioned drive with Easeus and did clean install on new partition (E) with another Win 7 Home Premium x64. When boot to the Win 7 Pro partition shows everything proper C drive, E drive, D drive - dvd. But when boot to the Home Premium partition it shows itself as drive C and shows the actual drive C as D, and the dvd as drive E. Home premium installation would not recognize video adapter, network adapter, etc. Not sure what happened during the installation that the drives show differently depending on the boot partition. Was finally able to get network driver loaded and to the internet, so believe Home Premium was activated. Is there a way to correct all this without doing format and another clean install on partition.

Nothing to correct - this is exactly as it should be in Win7 which always itself as C when booted.

Most drivers are in installer with newer delivered quickly via optional Windows Updates.

Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Toshiba Support Downloads webpage for your model, or click Update Driver in Device Manager, then browse to the D:/Windows/System32/Drivers and /driverstore folders to see if it will pick up driver from there. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/97061-driver-install-device-manager.html

Check the activation status at Computer>Properties. You can insert the Home Premium Product Key on COA sticker there to activate with the license which came with computer.

May I ask why you upgraded HP to Pro and then Dual Booted a new HP install?

Use computer for business. Have to have Pro for one client where XP mode is needed to communicate with MS exchange server. Must have two partitions as clients have database engines that conflict with each other, so must start programs from separte drives.

But when booting to Home Premium - the drives are different - never seen that before where the designations change depending on the partition that is booted.
Also, the system still does not recognize the video adapter. when booting from the Home premium partition.

Again, this is entirely normal for Win7 to always see itself as C when Dual Booted - it will cause no problems.

Look in Device Manager at the status of the wireless Network Adapter. If it is missing driver, then browse to the Driver on your Pro install from Device Manager as given in my previous post. Otherwise, update driver to latest on Support Downloads webpage for your model computer.

Next open Network and Sharing Center, select Change Adapter settings, rightclick on Wireless Connection to Diagnose. The Diagnostics in Win7 actually fix problems or tell you exactly what is wrong.
