Customize Windows 7 Taskbar

I have an idea in my mind for what i would like my taskbar to look like. Is there any suggestions as to how i can learn how to make my own taskbar?

Click an empty space on taskbar and select properties.

You can make custom icons with a wide selection of available apps if that is all you want. Google is your friend. However, if all you want is a unique taskbar in addition to these custom icons, I suggest a custom theme where all is Win 7 standard except the taskbar. I suggest this site for assistance :
