Is there a way to customize how you view the control panel in Windows 7? When I go to my Control Panel, I can't find ANYTHING in Category View, so I switch it to Large Icons. In my Control Panel, though, I have 52 Large Icons listed in my Control panel, most of which I don't need. Most of the time when I use the Control Panel, I'll click on an Icon and the screen I need is usually another click away. I wouldn't mind spending the time making my own personal Control Panel View if there is a way.

Does anyone know of such thing?

Depending on where you're trying to get to you can use various alternative quicker routes, like the shortcuts in C:\Windows\System32 for the various tabs in System Properties, or use Run (Win+R) and build up a MRU list of your favourite items, like
control appwiz.cpl,,2 takes you straight to Windows Features, or control color takes you to Windows color - if you do a google search for Run commands you'll see there are lots. Also, if you're into it, you can make any number of autohotkey shortcuts for just about anywhere.

If you want to remove (hide) items from Control Panel, to unclutter it, it's not hard:

Control Panel - Hide Icon - Vista Forums
