Solved Cx142 please help!

I have a new gateway nv53a laptop with windows 7 home 64 bit. My trial norton expired so I uninstalled it and installed pctools firewall and am now getting this application error for just about everything. I cannot get online, it will not allow me to perform a recovery, uninstall any programs including the pctools nor will it allow me to open the program. What do I do next? This laptop is my lifeline. Pleeeeeease help me.
