cyggcc_s.1.dll missing

Trying to install a program I got the message "cannot run as cyggcc_s.1.dll is missing". What, please, is the best way to find and install the file successfully on my HomePremium 64bit sysyem

You need to install libgcc1 (see the search results for this here:

It's not clear why you didn't get this to start with, though it may berelated to your old installation. If installing the above package stilldoesn't help, please follow the problem reporting guidelines found here:

Hi there! Unfortunately that leaves me totally confused. What elelmets of all that lot do I actually d/load and install,please? Guidance for a old simple man is needed.

Not at home at the moment, so can't check exactly.

Run cygwin setup exe, if can't find it download Cygwin Installation
Add package
libgcc1-4.9.2-3 - libgcc1: GCC C runtime library (installed binaries and support files)

If above fail, try re-installing.

In the end I gave up, as the computer seems to be OK otherwise. Incidentally when I ran sfc /scannow there were a considerable number of corruptions that could not be cured. Google revealed that a Windows Update was a likely culprit The Tech Cookbook – Windows 7 update (KB3022345) causing corrupt files

Sfc /scannow is now OK.
