My PC has a Killer Networks NIC on the motherboard. I used it for a long time, and had problems with losing connection. Eventually, I decided that my problems were related to my NIC, so I picked up an Intel NIC and disabled the onboard NIC. I uninstalled the drivers and Killer Networks software. However, now I have a different problem.
Whenever I download something that takes more than around 10 minutes, I will lose connection to the LAN. Not only that, but every device connected to my router via wired networking will lose connection. Devices connected via wireless remain connected. As soon as I reboot my PC, every other device on the network regains connection.
I have no QoS or anything like that set up on my router. I've tried removing the KillerNetworks driver software using their old uninstaller tool. I've tried limiting download speed when I am downloading. Nothing I've tried seems to help. BTW, my wife's PC is running the same anti-virus (setup the same way) and firewall software I am, but is not having the problem.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue?
