Dear all wonderful helpful people,

I have tried countless drivers including the d-link + gigabyte + atheros as well.

So far to no avail, network adapter just continues to not function and be listed as "NTativrv01" in the other devices section of device manager.

My system is slightly dated now but still pretty good, doesn't usually have any trouble running things. It is a custom build with ASUS motherboard, Athlon FX-55 2.63 processor, 2 GB of ram, 250 GB harddrive, 256 MB Nvidia graphics card.

Would really appreciate it if someone could give me any pointers as to what to do now.

Hi Crippo6 and Welcome to the forums...

Sorry to hear that your having trouble... Custom builds can be a pain like that... :(
Have you tried uninstalling your Network Adapter driver and letting Windows Update install the latest one? Are you running 32 or 64bit version of W7 ... Check to see if there are any Vista drivers available .... if so, install them in compatablity mode ... Let us know how it goes...
