Data compression (not Audio) programs

Hi all
Winrar seems to be the choice these days of decent data compression but I like the .7Z format -- seems to compress even binary files better than winrar and its FREE (open source).

There's also a 64 bit version which works just fine on W7.

Any comments -- if I use this will this be incompatable or is winrar the one to use even though it's not "technically" free - you just have to put up with a little bit of nagware.

I just saw It can compress *.dll file to 0kB
The entire archive with winrar weights 60MB compared to 45 with 7zip
I was really impressed so I think I will try it. Thanks for the link.

I've always been a fan of Winzip (since my Win 3.1 days), especially since it also accomodates .RAR files which it never did a few versions back.

And it's free (well, some minor restrictions but i've not seen them yet)
