Winrar seems to be the choice these days of decent data compression but I like the .7Z format -- seems to compress even binary files better than winrar and its FREE (open source).
There's also a 64 bit version which works just fine on W7.

Any comments -- if I use this will this be incompatable or is winrar the one to use even though it's not "technically" free - you just have to put up with a little bit of nagware.
