Hi, yes DBAN can be used on HDD. However I wouldn't recommend using it on SSD regularly. You can use the secure erase utility that's designed for your SSD.

i did run(DEBAN) by mistake on a SSD drive, do you think 1 have damaged the drive?????

No, it should be okay. SSD's have a number of write cycles (we are talking a lot and most will still outlive a HDD anyway).
If you're constantly writing a to an SSD a large number of times then you "could" shorten the lifespan of the drive.
Running once will be fine, but I just wouldn't run utilities like that a lot on SSD's.
