Dead bug caught in my laptop screen!

So it's been like almost a year (time zooms by so fast!) that i've been using my laptop. It's an Acer Aspire 5755G that cost $900 (Canadian Dollars) and I really love it because it's got amazing speed and graphics with an Intel(R) Core(tm) i7. I always game with it and stuff. But now, the amazing graphics are ruined! Guess why; Theres a bug. I first thought it was just a fly walking on the screen and tried to take it with a tissue, and it was the stupidest thing to do. Because I squashed the little thing and realized it was INSIDE my screen. I mean in between the glass.
Could somebody at least tell me how a f***ing bug could get in a screen? Is there a way to get it out? (I'd really rather not disassembling my laptop at all, because i'd rather stick with six pixels covered by a bug than $900 lost!) Will the damn thing eventually fall out somehow?

Looking at this video Acer Aspire 5755 Laptop Screen Replacement Procedure - YouTube it looks like there may not be a glass in front of the screen, it looks like it's part of the screen.

Jerry seems to be right.. Id suggest removing the besel around the screen and very carefully pop it out and replace it. Its very straight forward. Otherwise start to get used to seeing that bug cause he ain't going anywhere soon! Also replacement LCD will only cost about 90bucks.

Computers are warm, insects like warm things, especially during winter. They hammer on it mindlessly until they find a smallish hole to get in (I had mosquitos in a laptop's optical disk tray, I had no idea on how they managed to get there). That's why "bug" became part of IT terms, it started with insects causing malfunctions in oldish vacuum-tube computers because they were warm and insects attracted by that were shorting everything by touching contacts.

I would be tempted to take a picture of your screen and put it up on a public access picture gallery then share it with acer and see what they have to say ?

If a bug can get between the front laminated layer then that could be seen as a design fault and I would try take them to task.

I think your laptop uses a polarizer, which is a thin layer of film laminated to the outermost layer of glass of the notebook screen, used to filter light waves produced by the screen to generate an image.

Pursuing them might be a hiding to nothing but hey its worth a try.

I had/have the same problem. Be switching screens in about 2 weeks....... been looking at my squashed bug since March I guess. Had a thread here about it ..... got some hilarious answers. And good advice of course!
