I'm searching for an affordable, decent headset for universal use, from gaming and watching movies to speaking with friends. Unfortunately, I need some assistance on finding a headset that fits these criteria, and also advice on whether I should buy a headset with surround sound and/or a microphone.

Currently, there are a few headsets which I am interested in:
*(I have $7 in credit with NewEgg)

Corsair Vengeance 1500 (7.1 surround) - $69.99* + $6.99 Shipping

Rosewill rhts-8206 (5.1 surround) - $44.99* + $4.99 Shipping

Logitech G430 Lightweight
(7.1 surround) - $59.99 + Free Express Shipping

In addition to these concerns, is it better to buy a separate microphone? Should I purchase a headset without surround sound? Do headphones usually go on sale, to a greater extent, during Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Boxing Day?

Any insight or alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

If you are going to use a microphone, either for Skype, gaming, etc definitely get a headset with a mic.

I don't have any suggestions for what you want other than you need to really test them out before buying. What sounds good to one person may not be what someone else wants.

I have a recording studio so I go for headphones for that application (Beats audio headphones are not for recording studios as they tend to emphasize bass).

Try using the Intex IT-878 headphone with mic. And feel the difference. Waiting for your reply.
