Default back to LiveTV?

Hey guys,

Just got into MCE and have to say, I'm seriously considering tossing my three Tivo's out and replacing them with MCE's. That being said, one thing I used to like about the Tivo was that if you were watching a show or video or something and it ended. If you didn't do anything for a few minutes, it would default back to playing Live television.

Is there a way to do that? So, basically I'd love to see that anytime my MCE is sitting at a menu screen for a few minutes, it just jumps to Live TV.

Thanks!

Hello Meatball, welcome to the Seven Forums.

I don't think it's possible.

The command %windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe /homepage:VideoFullscreen.xml /PushStartPage:True given from Start > Run or command line, starts WMC in Live TV mode, bypassing menu screen, but that's not the answer you are looking for.

What you could do is either write a plugin to do it, it would be a very quick\easy one. Or use a combination of a couple existing ones to do most of what you want.

Media Center is prone to HDCP handshake issues when the display is powered off or when resuming from standby. Due to this there are a number of tools that closes Media Center when idle or going to sleep and resumes when complete. I personally use babgvant's Standby Helper. You can setup Standby Helper to close Media Center when idle and resume into Live TV. Not quite what you wanted but could offer some additional benefits.
