Hi,

I'm new here. So if I've posted this in the wrong section, could you kindly direct me to the write section. Thanks.

My Icon for PPTX isn't displaying properly. This happened after I Right-clicked Open with > Choose Default program > MS Office PowerPoint.

I've tried:

  • reinstalling Office
  • clearing the IconCache
  • changing the Icon to something else and changing it back.
Any suggestions on what is wrong? Thanks.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations

Head there and make sure PPTX is set to be opened by PowerPoint.

I believe the icon displayed is the office image viewer. Do as jelyman suggested and revert back.

Thanks. I changed the default program to Excel, then changed it back and that fixed it. Thanks.

And the icon isn't office image viewer, it's actually a blank document with a powerpoint logo in the middle.

Regardless of what it used to be, I'm glad it's back to normal now.
