Hi. We are installing OpenOffice on several hundred computers and we want to set it as the default program for .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, etc. files. Where is this information stored in the registry so we can push out the registry changes via a logon script? Thanks!

I don't really know. When installing Open Office, it should either set it as the default automatically, or give you an option to.

No need to do to the registry, go to the Control Panel and and Default Programs which can also be seen on the Start menu. Then, click "Associate a file type or protocol to a program" and from there, just choose Open Office apps to be the default program for the file types you want but you have to do this manually on every computer though. So I guess you can just teach this to the hundreds of personnel and let them do that by themselves.
