Delay during "verifying DMI pool data

So i just updated my BIOS to the latest version out there because mine was really out dated.
Now when ever the PC starts up it stays at Verifying DMI pool data for about 10-15sec, whilst with my old BIOS it stayed for about 5-8sec. Also with my new BIOS it doesnt say boot from CD/DVD after it verifying.
Then it stays at starting windows for longer than usual.
Anyway, why does Verifying DMI pool data stay longer on screen now? and not Boot from CD/DVD appear?

Sometimes once you've updated your BIOS, you need to go back into it and set it up again
(it might have loaded the default values)

Sometimes, a delay as you described is cause by hardware detection. When I experienced such a delay, it was due to a defective floppy drive, optical drive or USB device.

might have been a good idea to check your BIOS settings before you updated it.... but it's not the end of the world ... what's your MB make/model, if I've got some spare time I could post the most common settings that you might need to change, without going into to much detail

Didn't your BIOS update pretty much solve your previous problem with wake-up freezing and bluescreens?
Enter BIOS setup using the key given on first bootup screen. Look for the listing for your floppy drive in drives listings and change from Auto to Disabled.
Now look for boot order and set CD/DVD drive to boot first, followed by HD. Make sure floppy drive doesn't appear there.
If you have any questions, don't save the settings but post back here to ask to be sure. As long as you don't save settings then you can't mess anything up in BIOS, so be sure that any changes are exactly what you need to do.
