Delayed startup process after removing PUPs

I'm no tech genius, in fact I'm lucky I can even browse the internet. But if anyone can help me that'd be awesome. I recently started torrenting and although I have finally completed my movie/music collections I have noticed it reaks havoc on my computer. So I tried to remove utorrent and wrap things up with a couple of virus/malware scans. Normally I use Norton 360 but sometimes like this time I also use malware bytes. Malware Bytes detected a few PUPs and I blindly deleted all of them. Now I am having problems when the computer starts up. I see the hp logo when I initially hit the power button, and then it's a blank screen for about 10-15 minutes before I see the "Starting Windows" screen. That delay didn't used to exist and I'm wondering if I deleted a critical program file that is necessary for Windows to startup correctly. I do have the Windows 7 starter disc and I'm curious if that would potentially solve the problem or if some other solution would be better. Can anyone help? Thanks!

If you use "System Restore", I would try using a restore point prior to the problem.

This line concerns me.
Doing this is illegal. You cannot download movies and music for which you do not own, especially from torrents. You are asking for problems.
I highly recommend deleting all torrenting software as well as the content you downloaded.

Then post in the System Security - Windows 7 Help Forums forums so we can make sure your system is clean.

A system restore is not going to fix this issue.

We don't know that OP is downloading illegally although that possibility certainly comes to mind.

We also don't know that System Restore will not set this right since this is exactly what it's designed to do.

Don't deride other's good suggestions, just make your own. Mine is to run a few Startup Repairs to check over the boot config, then SFC /SCANNOW Command to check System file integrity.

If this is the original HP factory preinstall it is a grossly inferior install to begin with, larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which conflict with better versions built into Win7. That's why most tech enthusiasts won't run such an install but intead do the vastly superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Then if you'll stick with the tools and methods given you'll keep a perfect install for as long as you do.
