Delete a folder which cannot be deleted

Ok, I had a folder on my laptop in which I used for transfering files over my network from my desktop to my laptop right, my power went out and my desktop shut off. this folder is now on my laptop still and I CANNOT DELETE IT. I try to delete it it and it says I need permisson from my computer to delete it. Its a simple task like all I want to do is delete it lol. I have changed every permisson POSSIBLE and more I even tried to delete the folder over a network and this still did not work. Any tips on how to delete something that is un-deletable?

Have you tried opening an elevated command prompt, then going to the desktop directory and deleteing the folder using the rd /s command?

For example:

cd\
cd users\[username]\desktop
dir
rd yourdirectoryname /s
