Hi, Am on Windows 7, and reinstalled it couple of times before, although it works probably, but games dont work, gives me crashAPP message, and even failed to install it. even play player dont play some files. am wondering is this is due to deleted Reg keys, and how can I restore deleted reg keys if I reinstalled windows. or reinstalling windows has the cure ?

If you haven't made a back-up of whatever registry keys you deleted then I'm afraid they are gone, unless you have a restore point you can use to revert your system back to before you made the alterations.
Reinstalling Windows will rebuild the registry and give you a fresh start.
Which keys did you delete and why?

What are the issues you are having as we may be able to help you without having to reinstall windows.

Regards Danny

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the reply, actually am not having specific troubles in performance, its just I can't run my game need for speed underground 2, and that was after reinstalling windows couple of weeks ago. probably I deleted related folder off drive C or somthin. On forums they say this game is not compatible with windows 7 ( I was playing it on the same OS ) , so I downloaded another games to check the issue, and yet cant run any!!

Also, I recently used Registry fix program, and after scanning, it fixed the found errors, which was mostly an empty folders and non existent keys!

That said, I dont realize the problem preventing my game from running. The OS or Reg Keys or others.

Hello again Sindbad

Registry cleaners can cause more harm than good and many members here will not use them.If you do want to use them you should always back up your registry first so you have some way back when things go wrong.
This is one most people here would recommend if you feel you have to use one - http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download although there really is no need.
Anyway as for your games that's not really my area, last game I played was pac-man but if you say you had it installed and working then it should still work. Have you tried installing/running in compatibility mode for whichever OS its designed for - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html.

Thank you guys, I appreciate your help.... actually I deleted these Reg Software now, and keept CC cleaner, probably I will reinstall windows 7 and XP SP3.

As for the game, I played it through XP, but I remember too that I run it on windows 7!!! what is ironic is that I checked the below link of microsoft, and it said that its not compatible with windows 7, neither 32 bit nor 64 bit.

Even when I right click to run it in compatible mood, it doesnt run!, maybe reinstallation will help, donno.

If the Upgrade Advisor says the game is not compatible with Windows 7, it means just that, and re-installing Windows will not change that fact.

If you've messed up the registry then a re-install of Windows will solve that problem, but if you want to play games using Windows 7 you'll need to buy games that are compatible with it.

Just a tip for future reference. Before I reinstall I copy and save the Reg keys for games, after the new system is installed I merge them and things work just fine.
( you have to copy the games files too )

If the Upgrade Advisor says the game is not compatible with Windows 7, it means just that, and re-installing Windows will not change that fact.

Not always. I have many games that are not Windows 7 compatible, yet they run when I install the most recent patch for that game. Examples include Homeworld Cataclysm, which was never even designed for Windows 7, but I have it running fine, without virtual machines.

@Sindbad: If a patch exists for the game, try installing that and usually it will work, but not always. It is best if you try to find a game similar that is compatible with Windows 7. :)

No, I am only giving advice that may or may not work, if patches don't exist, then you will probably not get it working on Windows 7, in which case you'll need a computer with Windows XP.
