Look I have go SO sick of WLM and it's damn antics - having to sign in every time you open it and it won't send decent sized mails, I just keep gettig that annoying - no bloody irritating do I want to wait or try later message can't M$ get any damn thing right.

So have gone to Thunderbird now the only two small problems with it is you can only send smallish mails and you can't set blocked senders so torrents of rubbish to have keep deleting.

Is there another email app around as I can only think buying Outlook I am so fed up with the whole wretched thing. Good grief it couldn't be that hard to se up an email app that approaches something like user friendly - OR COULD IT!!:mad:

Help before I go stir crazy!!

Anger doesnt solve anything It just makes things worse. When you are angry at one thing you start looking for flaws in everything else. In turn you stop seeing clearly as nothing is how it "should be" when everything is as it was created. A user is a user, you just use what someone else creates, if you are not happy with it you find an addon, a plugin, or an alternative. While I have never used WLM, I have had bad experiences with Thunderbird. If your looking to send large emails it may not be the client rather the host. In all reality email is slow now we have file hosting sites such as Skydrive, dropbox, that let you store your files for free. These are faster, and typically more secure than a plain text email any 15 year old who can use Google can pick up.

Please do not think I am bashing you but rather giving you another perspective to look at your situation.
Thunderbird is o0pensource so maybe a lil Google work can get you a block list addon ;)

Why don't you try Yahoo Mail, which is free, (or Yahoo Mail Plus, which costs a few dollars a year.) Both are excellent internet based email clients, that allow the sending of large attachments, have unlimited storage space, the availability of blocking junk mail, and most importantly (to me) is that they are extremely customizable. You can also sync your Calendar with Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger gives you a popup notification whenever you get an email, as well as IM functions. Try it, I think you'll like it.

Ok

When you are angry at one thing you start looking for flaws in everything else

Now you have something there Mckillwash I never really thought about that much but you're right.

Look I am not happy with Thunderbird myself but it's the only mail that is going through at the moment - my ISP is our national (gov) telecommunications provider and they outsource everything when it comes tosortingoutproblems so hmmmmm.

So tomorrow I'll reinstall it and try yours and Imperfect's proposals although I am not really keen with hotmail type apps but I suppose I do have quite a good security suite on (Kaspersky IS 2011) so what the heck.

Damn nuisance though when I need to get through to the person in the UK like yesterday.

Thanks to you both for the time and patience.
