Could you please try to connect the printer to your XP laptop to make sure it is still working.I posted instructions for windows 7 32bit/64bit OS details to get the 922 printer working. It will printer easily as it did under windows vista but i forgot to mention that in windows 7 the all in one software didnt work anymore. But there is a work around. Just click the red/green/blue/yellow windows start icon in the lower left hand corner of the windows then a window should pop up and where you see, "search programs and files" type in scan, then you should see, programs(1) windows fax and scan. Use that. Click on it to launch it and then when you see the program icon in the lower task bar, right click and click on, "pin this program to the task bar". You can now close the windows fax and scan. Now everytime you want to scan or fax you can use this icon to launch the program. You might notice that windows 7 hides some programs from view so you have to search for them.

Thank you for the tip. Scanning indeeds works, but printing is still not working (I followed your instructions ...).
Can you please post a link to the drivers that you used to install. When the printer was connected to my laptop with Windows XP ... . I didn't make the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, but bought a new pc with Windows 7 installed on it ...
I have Windows 7 64 bit, so I used the 64 bit driver for Windows Vista (Drivers and Downloads). I also tried the 32 bit driver, but then I cannot print nor scan.
