This old printer worked wonderful. I would like to re-install it. When I send a test page to it Printer Settings reports One document in Que, Status Printing, but it doesn't print.
I have connected the printer with a parallel cable and in the printer window it said Ready Standby.
I download driver R166996 and unpacked it to C:/Program Files/Dell/Win32/PCL/English/dixblzi and clicked Open. It said Installation completed successfully.
I went to Devices and Printer, clicked on Add a Printer, selected Add a Local printer use Existing LPT1, Dell Laser Printer 3000cn PCL6; have Disk, and then I browsed to where I unpacked the driver. The installation Completed successfully.
Why can't I print a test page? I shut off the printer I ran Problem Solver. It cleared Que. I tried to print a test page again and it sent the Test page to the printer but it still didn't print.
I unplugged the printer, rebooted the system, plugged it in and tried to send a test page again. It still didn't print. How can it be that Windows 7 sees the printer, the printer reports everything is Ready and yet it doesn't print? :sarc:
I believe the printer is in working order but something is wrong with the communications. Can someone help me.
