Dell Datasafe Restore and Emergency Backup not showing on reboot

My girlfriend gave me her laptop to fix. I'm rebooting a dell Inspiron 1545. I hit F8 when starting up, click "repair your computer", click next with "US" selected. now here is where my issue is, i got a screen to pick a windows 7. I picked both and neither have the dell data safe recovery and emergency back up option. Anyone have any ideas what to do to restore this laptop to it's original factory settings?

Welcome to Seven forums.

Factory restore and Dell Datsafe Restore are two different options for restoring the system. You are trying to restore the system using Factory restore.

"windows cannot find a system image on this computer" telling me to attach back up hard drive or insert final dvd from a backup set. I talked to the owner of the laptop and she said that she tried to reboot it herself and now she got it stuck possibly. is there a way i can download the repair disc or final dvd from backup set from dell?
