Dell E6510 No display

My latitude E6510 has no display. I however hear windows coming up through the speaker, so I hook up external monitor and system comes up and is visible only on the external monitor. Thus, I assumed the display is defective and replaced the display. However, same problem, still display on laptop not working.

Any ideas appreciated.......

shine a light into the display ddo you see an image? is this an led display or not if not did it come with a new inverter?

if you have tried using an external Monitor, try changing the resolution into the smallest 800:600.
then see if the display comes up on your laptop monitor.
