Solved Dell error message CLR 80004005

When I turn my computer on this message pops up: "DellSystemDetect.exe - Fatal Error. CLR error 80004005. The program will now terminate". I click the OK button in the error box and it goes away.Can anyone tell me what this is, and how to get rid of it.

Dell is absolutely no help. My computer is "out of warranty" which appears to be a very bad thing to them. If I don't cough up some more money for them, I can't even get a simple answer about their error codes. Pretty poor support.

Out of warranty then it's time to clean install and have a better install than the original
If you need installation media just say the word plus confirm you need English win-7 sp1 home premium 64 bit.

One snafu is you'd need to download to a flash drive these three updates in advance so you can install them before connecting to the internet after getting to the desktop.

Ultimately it is but you fail to see why it is the cure to your problem

Another option is to go to the manufactures website and support/ driver downloads and reinstall all of the utilities/ vga/ chipset/.... stuff Dell offers for your machine.

Hi,
It's just some Dell junkware utility that is corrupt now
best way to solve the issue is to recover your personal files and clean install windows.

You can wait and see if anyone else has anymore suggestion.

If you need installation media we can get it for you too and give exact processes to get the job done
Just say the word.

Did you already remove the program? It should be labeled Dell system detect in programs and features.

Then check task scheduler for a task with the same name, right click on it and delete it.

That's what I did ages ago, I removed that whole Dell System Detect. It's rubbish and there is useless support behind it.
Don't have that Dell now anymore, don't miss it.
