Dell laptop suddenly running slow now Bad_System_config_Info

So I have a Dell Inspirion 1545; One day when I turned it on, it started running extremely slow. It took almost 30 minutes just to boot to password screen, I put in the password and almost took another 30 minutes to get to desktop. Well then it started giving me errors like Dell Dock has failed and Windows (Something) had crashed, I got it up long enough to run Malware Bytes, and CCleaner to fix registry errors but nothing. Now I try to turn it on in normal mode and takes about an hour and thirty minutes to get through everything and to the desktop and thats if the icons decide to show. and if I try to get it into safe mode I get Bad_System_config_Info bsod.

I dont really know whats going on, it decided that it was gonna shit out on a random day. The computer is out of warranty and Dell doesnt provide support for it anymore.

Its basically un-bootable. There are no system restore points aswell, Repair your computer says it fixes everything but it doesnt.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope but you could do a clean install if you have the win 7 dvd.

If you cant boot in any other way your options are limited.

Learn how to break down your laptop to get to its' h/d and remove it.

Go to a friends house and print out the service manual for your machine to get this info.

Purchase an adapter for it from Newegg to plug it into a regular pc. The adapter will change the interface from 1.75" to 2.25"(IDE) where you can attach a ribbon cable and a molex (normal 4-pin plug) power connection.

Open up your friend's pc and attach it to the middle connector on either ribbon cable. When you boot up, it will be recognized. Get your data off via burns to dvd's.

When you've captured your stuff, you now have to wipe this drive. Print out a tutorial from this forum to do this. One of the gurus on this site will post which one.

Re-install the "cleaned" drive back into your laptop and do a clean install of your OS. You will need to know your key. Do you? If you have no idea, you will have to cull it from your OS now with a utility to do that.

Yeah, I know how to do all this. I was just wondering if there was a work-around. I was hoping it wouldnt have to come to this.

My name is Ajit Singh and i work for dell social media and community.

This problem of system working too slow can be there because of two reasons. One could be the HW and the other SW. By the details yo have provided it seems that some of the OS files might have gone bad due to corrupt sector on hard drive or a possible failure of the hard drive too. The best solution is to run the diagnostics on your computer to check for the HDD first. If it fails for the hard drive replace it or else do a clean install from the OS disk and the problem will be taken care of. Also make sure to run a virus scan if anti-virus SW is active and working fine.

To check for the HDD failure Press f12 as you power on the system - select diagnostics from boot menu - if you gets any error code between 2000-0141 to 2000 -0146 it will indicate HDD failure, replace the HDD otherwise do a clean install of OS.
