Hi,

I have just joined the forum in the hope that I may be able to get some help with the problem I am having.

Having trudged over various forums, the Dell and Toshiba support pages I am no further ahead.

Basically the problem is that I bought a new Dell ST2200t Touchscreen monitor-
Product Support

I am trying to get the touchscreen to operate efficiently and consistently via WIn 7. I have tried two different laptops namely a Dell and a Toshiba Tecra M10. The problem is the same with both.

I have updated the driver as suggested by Dell, when I plug the screen in it is identified within the Device Manager HID tag.

I used to be able to get to the stage of touches being recognised but not in the right place on the screen so I would calibrate. After calibration this would seem OK for a couple of minutes and then completely shut off i.e. not recognise touch again. Unfortunately I cannot even now get the option to reset the calibration and the calibration screen does not recognise touch. At this point HID info is seen in Device Manager. So basically the laptops see the touchscreen but the touchscreen seems to consistently fall over.

This seems to be a common problem from the research I have done but I have not come across a resolution to it yet. I was just wondering if there was anything that I need to modify within Win 7 at all.

Most grateful for any help at all please

Hi, Yes, I have been on the forums however everyone that mentions this touchscreen mostly go through the same options to try with no successful resolution. I tried to sign up to get onto the forum but it was very confusing and difficult (I am not a basic PC user). Tried getting support from Dell however I can get no further than having to provide a service tag which the monitor does not have on it.

The forum, even with its signup, is the best bet. I used to do a lot of user support on there but it was primarily with desktop PC's and none with monitors. Dell tech support can be a hassle at times, especially since they are not US based. When I was on the forum, we got a lot of posts from users that had tried Dell tech support and for whatever reason gave up and came to the forum. We solved many user problems that had not been resolved through Dell tech support.
