Currently own a Dell Studio 540s. I know that because I have a slim case that I need a low profile card. I also know that my current PSU isn't powerful enough to power the card I'm interested in(100w PSU). I come to you all for advice before purchasing so I know what I'm getting myself into and make sure that I'm not missing anything.
I know how to install the card, but I'd really like some help with the PSU part, as I have 0 experience with upgrading them(most of my experience is PnP at best). Dunno if I'm going to need adapters or anything like that, please help! Any recommendations for alternate parts or anything like that would be greatly appreciated!
Okay, so if I get that PSU, I should just be able to take out the other one and put that one in it's place? Seems simple enough. The second link is pretty much all Greek to me though. I guess the part where I really get lost is when the guy replying to him starts talking about mini towers. Is a mini tower the same thing as a slim tower or..? I'm not really hip to all the lingo.
edit: Because that PSU is a Dell replacement part, I shouldn't run into any problems with the connectors right? Dell seems to be pretty infamous with that kind of thing.
Just trying to cover all my bases so when all this stuff arrives, I'm not left without a wire or something which leaves me unable to use the stuff for the couple weeks it will take for it to arrive.
