N sound or audio control panel. Tried to update driver XPS-8700_Audio_Driver_313J8_WN_6.0.1.6909_A01 and get this message.

[2] Please perform this [it will rule out device errors] . . .

Under the heading msinfo32 [MS System Information] - Problem Devices . . ., please run MS_Info32_Find_Problem_Devices.bat, Option [2] from here => BATCH PROGRAMS [Standalone] and then upload the results using the tutorial at the bottom of the above link [Upload to SevenForums . . .] and someone will look at it for you.

What had happened I installed a few extra slave driver and that I had to change the drive letter. I nplugged the 2 slave drives and did a re-boot. Sound is back and drive letters ate now correct.
