I'm rolling out Windows 7 to my small company, which is a non-profit, and I won't be setting up a deployment server...so keep that in mind.

In the past, with XP, I created a ghost image for each of my hardware devices, and stored them on a server. When I needed to reimage, I'd boot from a custom BartPE disc, access the server share, and use Ghost32 to pull down the image.

My older version of Ghost has issues with Windows 7, so I'm looking for a new bootable method. I don't want to use an external USB drive, as I'll be doing the upgrades clinic-style, meaning I'll have several going at once.

Would BartPE and Macrium Reflect be my best option? I am only rolling out Windows 7 x86, so the free version should be okay....or is there something better I should consider?

Win7's own imaging isn't evolved enough yet, so Macrium or Paragon Backup 10 are the best free choices to gain more flexibility in choosing what to image and where to reimage it.

I'm not sure how you would do several at once without using WInPE. Others might.

In the past, I would boot the BartPE on a laptop, and once the Ghost session had started, I'd boot the disc on another laptop and repeat it.

I'm setting up and testing the Macrium Reflect option to see if that works well. I'll look into Paragon as well...thanks!
