Hey

My background, which is the same resolution as my screen, has gone and blown itself up bigger than what it should be (1280 x 1024). I've been using my TV (1920 x 1080) and so far had no issues until I booted my pc today.

I have tried to unplug the TV then reset, all my drivers are up to date, downloading another 1280 x 1024 image, and i even tried to recovery an earlier stage when it was working.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Conin Whakatihi

Does it show correctly on your normal monitor ? Is the res set correctly to 1280 x 1024 ?

It looks like its been zoomed up on my monitor. Previously it use to be normal resolution on my monitor and TV. Now they've both stretched to the TV's resolution

Go into the display properties and take a look see.

control panel>display

They each need to be set to their native ( normal ) resolutions.

Almost Forgot, Welcome to the Forums :D

The resolution is set to 1280 x 1024. Everything is as it was but in my display settings it shows the TV as 1 and my monitor as 2, yet my monitor is still set as my main display.

So this is what my screens are looking like at the moment, there is a bunch of the background missing on both screens ( both are set to the proper res.).

The picture on the right looks fine, the picture on the left is missing stuff, make sure on desktop personilazation you have the picture set to fit.

You can`t have a 1280 x 1024 res picture fill the whole screen on a 1920 x 1080 monitor if you want it to look right.

When I have my Dell 1440 X 900 and my Sony Bravia 40" 1920 x 1080 both running, the desktop picture on the Sony is smaller and has what I`ll say ( and I know this is not the correct wording ) black bars all the way around the desktop. Which is how it`s supposed to look.

When I run my HP2311x, which is 1920 x 1080 and the Sony, both desktops fill the screen. as they should.

Your picture looks fine to me, of course you are going to have less of the pic on the 1280 x 1024 if you want it to look right on the 1920 x 1080.

Right now as I`m reading your post I have a bar at the bottom to drag your post back and forth, I don`t have to do that with anyone else`s post. Something`s wrong there, maybe someone else can confirm this.

Its the 1280 x 1024 image which is what my background currently is. When i first had the tv plugged in it displayed the 1280 x 1024 image and had black bars around it, now it seems to have stretched to fit my TV, but also stretched on my monitor.

So now the 1280 x 1024 image on my monitor doesn't seem to fit the resolution it should. Its stretched to fit the tv for some odd reason.

Sorry if i'm being a bit repetitive, its so confusing to explain =S

Go into desktop>personalize and set the desktop background to center and save changes.

See if that fixes it.

If you go into my pictures and choose a pic to set as background it might not set it correctly, you have to do it through desktop>personalize.

That seems to have fixed it, but with my original image and a couple its still the same. Guess its time for a change in background :s

Cheers Dude!

All your desktop pics have to be 1280 x 1024 to look right on that monitor, don`t worry about how they appear on the 1080 until you have a daily use 1080 monitor. :p

Make sure you choose 1280 x 1024 when you download wallpaper.

All is well now ?

Also, go down to the bottom of the forum page, on the left, and make sure you don`t have it set to wide.
