Desktop Crash!

Okay, so for some reason my desktop is just white and when I roll the mouse over it is gives me the loading wheel thing. Not only that but it shows up through Windows Aero so I'm sure something is wrong. Can someone please help?

Try to right click on what should be the desktop. If personalize appears, set a new one. If that works,but icons are missing. Post again. It could be that the desktop that you selected is not loading correctly.

Is this currently happening? or reoccuring. can you press Ctrl-alt-Del and go to task manager. end task on the explorer.exe it should restart explorer and unfreeze.

Well, sometimes, it will load, but it seems that explorer.exe may be bugged, I ran a Norton Scan but it doesn't always load. It's working now, but i'll put a screenshot up if it happens again. (Which it probably will) Also, when I open Task Manager It reverts to normal. :/

not sure if this is the right thread, but here goes, i recently purchased an upgrade new motherboard, new CPU, memory and Windows 7 installed, unfortunately it hasn't been a smooth purchase, i have connected a N Belkin Adaptor and logitech wireless keyboard and mouse but computer keeps crashes, it freezes "not responding" after a short period it decides to respond....and works....usually happens once per boot up. the computer shop say its belkin adaptor and/or logitech keyboard/mouse. does anybody have any suggestions...please as its becoming really annoying, the computer shop have said that "it passes all of their bench tests" (what ever that means) the computer freezes randomly either on internet or whilst moving files around on desktop..... anbody's help appreciated

Can you try the following scannow troubleshooter? Don't do this if you have a custom theme, this will revert explorer.exe back to its original. If you have a custom theme though, the custom theme might be causing the issue you are seeing as well.​

thank you for your reply, how do i know i have a custom theme? do you mean the background pictures?
