Desktop display problems

Hi i am running windows 7 home premium and all has been ok untill now and i find i am unable to place any icons in the bottom of the 3 cm of the screen.

Has anybody got any ideal please

Is that where your taskbar is?


What happens if you try? Do you get an error message?

You can delete your own post at the edit button, look for the delete option and click both places.

Hi yes thats where my taskbar is.
And it is not hidded it there all the time and i get no error the icon just put up a few cm.

If i alter the resolution it then works ok but it was working ok a few days ago at the settings i have now

Have you changed anything on the system that you remember since then?


You could always do a system restore to a point when you know it was working; have a look at the tutorial at the link below. That may be more trouble than it's worth for a cm.

Yes i did install a desktop calander and thats when i think the problem started it is now uninstalled and my first thought was a system restore but all the restore points are corrupt so thats not a option.
I think i will reinstall windows from scratch

Any chance of a screen shot to show what it is you're talking about, as it could be something simple, and will be easier to try and rectify than reinstalling.

I hate that. That's what it was, when I did "align ..." it won't go any farthed down than yours.

Hi guys thanks for a the advice but i was almost sure it was the desltop calendar that had caised to probles. so now after a clean install it is now back to normal.

We're glad you're back to normal; you sound like me, a clean install will fix most anything.
